THE INDONESIAN NATIONAL CHILDREN’S DAY
The Indonesian Consulate General in Cape Town held a series of activities to celebrate the Indonesian National Children's Day on Saturday 26 July 2008.

The event was attended by approximately 100 children from members of the Indonesian community as well as South African community in Cape Town.
The whole series of activities on that day was preceded by an official ceremony led by Mr. Andradjati.
Mrs. Zainab Davidson as the curator of the Heritage Museum in Simons Town explained to the children about the history of the arrival of eminent persons from Indonesia such as Sheikh Yusuf, Tuan Guru, etc to the Cape Peninsula. With an interactive presentation, the children enthusiastically paid attention and raised question during presentation.

The children were enjoyed by various games such as trivia quiz (so-called 'cerdas cermat'), putting a pencil into a bottle without using your hands whilst tied to your waist, racing with balls from one end into baskets (so-called memindahkan bola), and races with marbles in a spoon.
A fun filled day concluded with the presentation of gifts to the winners of various events as well as gift bags for all participants.
