On Tuesday in Jakarta, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono inaugurated 24 new ambassadors who will serve in a number of countries in Asia, Europe, North and Latin America, and Africa.
The ceremony included the inauguration of former presidential spokesman Dino Patti Djalal as Indonesia’s new ambassador to the United States.
The ceremony was attended by a number of ministers, including Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa, Coordinating Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa and Coordinating People's Welfare Minister Agung Laksono, House of Representatives Speaker Marzuki Alie and Constitutional Court chief Mahfud MD.
