PT Pertamina EP, a subsidiary of state oil and gas PT Pertamina, says it has found additional oil reserves of 61 million barrels in the first half of this year.
"The reserves are found from nine exploration wells," Pertamina EP's public affairs manager Mochamad Harun said Monday.
He added that the company had also found additional gas reserves of 619 billion cubic feet (BCF) from the nine wells.
The nine exploration wells are located in three Pertamina's working areas: Indramayu and Bekasi (West Java), and South Sumatera.
Harun said that Pertamina EP had planned to drill 26 exploration wells this year and 12 of these wells have been drilled in the first semester.
As of the first semester of 2010, Pertamina EP's oil production has reached 130,400 barrels oil per day (bopd)
