Yudhoyono: G-20 has not solved financial crisis yet

The Jakarta Post , Mon, 11/17/2008

The G-20 high level meeting would not solve the U.S.-led global financial crisis immediately, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said on Saturday in Washington.

"The G-20 summit meeting was not design to solve all problems. It may need another or two summit meetings to solve the (global financial) problem," he said in a press conference with Indonesian journalists, Antara news agency reported.

Yudhoyono said not to set high hopes in global agreements in coping with the financial crisis.

"But, this meeting should give certainty on steps that need to be taken," he said.

Presidents and prime ministers from the world's powers meet in the G-20 meeting to settle remaining differences over an emergency plan to counter the worst financial crisis in decades.
