The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Cape Town would like to inform that as of February 2009 all tariffs for Consular fees (i.e. visa, passport renewal, document certification, legalization, translation etc.) have to be deposited directly to our account:

NEW TARIFFS STRUCTURE FOR VISAS REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA

The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Cape Town would like to inform that the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Pretoria has signed a decree No.: 05/SK/KP/PTA/III/2009 dated 10 March 2009 regarding New Tariffs for Consular Fees which apply within all accredited area of the Indonesia Embassy in Pretoria and the Indonesia Consulate General in Cape Town, South Africa. The decree will come into effect on Friday, 20 March 2009

The requirements for applying for the Visa are as follows:

General:

  1. Applicants must hold a passport which must be submitted upon request for inspection when applying for a visa.
  2. Non-passport documents (e.g. Travel Documents, Certificate of Identity, Certificate of Registration etc.) will not be accepted.
  3. Applicants should fill in two forms according to the purpose of their visit (e.g. business, tourist, social culture etc.) Once a visa is issued (stamped in the applicant’s passport), it cannot be cancelled or transferred to another type of visa under any circumstances.
  4. All questions must be answered, and all documents in support of an application submitted. Failure to do so may result in delay.
  5. The applicant must personally sign application forms. Forms can be downloaded from the Consulate’s website. Only two completed applications is accepted.
  6. All applications are subject to approval. The payment of visa fee and the submission of an application do not necessarily mean that a visa will be granted. The fee is non-refundable.
  7. All visa applications must be submitted between 09.00 and 13.00, Mondays to Fridays (except on Indonesian and South African public holidays) to the Visa Section of the Indonesian Consulate.
  8. If granted, visas can be collected within two working days, between 09.00 - 13.00 (Monday to Friday).
  9. All visa regulations are strictly adhered to for the good of each and every individual who wishes to visit Indonesia, in order to prevent any problems and complications with regard to their entry into Indonesia.
  10. Due to the fact that Indonesia and Israel do not, at present, share diplomatic relations, nationals and passport holders of Israel are unfortunately unable to enter the Republic of Indonesia as a tourist or otherwise without special authorisation from the Immigration Office. Therefore, all such applications have to be sent to the Immigration Office in Indonesia.
  11. All visitors, regardless of their nationality, who wish to travel to Papua Province, must obtain a special permit from the Indonesian Immigration Office, and also the State Police Department in the Capital city of Jakarta before entering these areas.
  12. It is most desirous that any traveller to Indonesia understands and duly respects the Indonesian Immigration’s regulations as well as the Consulate’s rules.

Transit Visa

A transit visa is required for visitors who are in transit and would like to go beyond the immigration check point area for more than 7 (seven) days.
Requirements:

  • A valid passport for 6 (six) months from the date of entry
  • An original application form in duplicate with 2 (two) recent passport-size photographs
  • 2x a copy of return ticket/on going ticket
  • Bank statement or bank reference letter mentioning sufficient funds to travel

Delay time: 2 (two) working days.


Visit Visa

Granted strictly for Tourist, Business and Social and Cultural visits. Visit Visa is valid for a single entry only if presented within 90 (ninety) days of the date of issuance and is valid for a maximum stay of 60 (sixty) days.
Requirements:

  • A valid passport for 6 (six) months from the date of entry
  • An original application form in duplicate with 2 (two) recent passport-size photographs
  • 2x a copy of return ticket
  • Bank statement or bank reference letter mentioning sufficient funds to travel
  • For a Business Visit Visa, an invitation from the company in Indonesia as well as a letter of approval and confirmation of employment by the local company are required

Delay time: 2 (two) working days.

Multiple Entry Business Visa

This Visa cannot be extended and is valid for several/multiple journeys for 12 (twelve) months with each visit not exceeding 60 (sixty) days.
Requirements:

  • A valid passport for 18 months from the date of entry
  • An original application form in duplicate with 2 (two) recent passport-size photographs
  • 2X Copy a of return ticket
  • Bank statement or bank reference letter mentioning sufficient funds to travel
  • An invitation from the company in Indonesia as well as a letter of approval and confirmation of employment by the local company are required

Granted only upon receiving Authorization from the Directorate General of Immigration Affairs in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Temporary Stay Visa

This Visa is valid for a single entry only if presented within 90 (ninety) days after the date of issuance and for a maximum stay of 1 (one) year. An extension may, however, be requested in Indonesia. This Visa may be granted to the following applicants:

  • Those who have the intention of investing in Indonesia
  • Those who will take up a working assignment or missionary assignment in Indonesia
  • Those who are sent to a training programme or course, a student exchange or involvement in scientific research in Indonesia

Requirements:

  • A valid passport for 18 months from the date of entry
  • An original application form in duplicate with 2 (two) recent passport-size photographs
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • A letter from the company and a letter of sponsorship from the agency in Indonesia
  • Marriage certificate (if married)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Medical Certificate
  • An official letter of good conduct (police clearance)

Granted only upon receiving Authorization from the Directorate General of Immigration Affairs in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Customs:

On entry to Indonesia, Customs allow a maximum of 1 (one) litre of alcoholic beverages and 50 cigars or 200 cigarettes or 100 grams of tobaccos. Should you have further questions/inquires please do not hesitate to call/contact us.
